Facial recognition is a research area that is being applied to multiple areas and hence is stimulating many researchers to follow up and dig more on this subject. Face recognition also helps in object recognition and computer vision. The major problem for face recognition is the unfavorable images acquired due to changes in facial expressions, changes in positions, occlusion, aging, and resolution. Some relevant subsets of this field are image processing, pattern recognition, and computer vision. Currently, applications of IR (Infrared) technology for FR are considered as the most viable alternative in the EMS (Electromagnetic Spectrum). IR imaging attracts researchers to pay attention to a multi-dimensional imaging system to increase the accuracy of results in conditions like-expression changes, dark lightings, facial disguise, and others. Inspired by the considerable success of Infrared and Visual bands in FR, a three-dimensional imagery data Multispectral, also known as Hyperspectral, collected over a hundred narrow and contiguous spectral bands is launched for developing a rigid FR system. Also, further research proves that the Multispectral/Hyperspectral Imaging System will be the probable future of human FR. The goal of innovation in face recognition technology is to develop stronger facial recognition algorithms.
